Recruitment fraud

Recruitment fraud is a sophisticated fraud involving the offer of fictitious job opportunities. This kind of fraud is normally done through online services such as bogus websites, through unsolicited emails and even via text messages claiming to be from United Oil & Gas Plc. The aim of the fraud is to obtain personal information or money. If you receive an email from United Oil & Gas instructing you to send replies to an email address other than one ending only with @uogplc.com, please treat it as a fraudulent employment offer and forward it to us info@uogplc.com.

Anyone who believes they may have been targeted is advised to contact their local police station.

United Oil & Gas plc does not ask for money or payments from applicants to secure a job, nor for travel expenses or visas/work permits. Nor do we request personal information such as passport and bank account details before meeting the candidate. The recruitment process at United Oil & Gas plc is to always to meet the candidate face to face for an interview before any formal job offer is made.

Email fraud

United Oil & Gas plc regularly receives calls and emails from members of the public seeking clarification on business propositions and job offers. United Oil & Gas plc is aware that individuals and organisations are using the United Oil & Gas plc logo and names of executives to solicit personal information, request payment or promise employment.

Fraudulent activity

We are aware of correspondence being sent to members of the public as part of a scam being carried out using names of our management team and/or names similar to our company name in order to obtain personal information and bank account details for fraudulent purposes.  It has also been brought to our attention that fraudulent websites under the names ‘A Oxley’, or A Oxley Oil & Gas Services Ltd’, and “Amplify Liquefied Oil” have been created to imitate our company website. We have no connection with these companies and/or these websites, which contain inaccurate and false information on the services provided by us and uses the names of individuals working at our Company.

We have reported the fraudulent activity to relevant authorities and are taking the necessary steps to have these websites taken down as soon as possible.

We would ask you to inform us if you receive any further similar communication, and we strongly advise that you make no contact via the scam website(s), or via any fax, email address or phone number that you are not certain is legitimate.

We would like to remind that you that we would never ask for your bank details, remittance of funds or any other personal information via email or our website.
